Seminar “Tenge – A Symbol of Independence”

At the initiative of the Department of Economics and Management of Kyzylorda Open University, a cognitive seminar titled “Tenge – A Symbol of Independence” was held for first-year students, dedicated to the history of Kazakhstan’s national currency.

The goal of the event was to enhance students’ economic literacy and to highlight the role of the tenge as an important symbol of national independence and financial stability.

Specialists from the Kyzylorda branch of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan were invited to the seminar:

  • Akmaryl Kiikbaevna Alibekova – Head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Statistics;
  • Indira Zhanysqyzy – Deputy Head of the Department of Cash Operations and Handling.

The guests provided detailed information about the introduction of the national currency, its circulation features, inflation trends, and the tenge’s impact on economic stability. They also answered students’ questions.

During the seminar, students learned about the development of Kazakhstan’s financial system and the tenge’s significance as one of the key symbols of national sovereignty.

The national currency represents independence and state identity. Events like this play an essential role in fostering economic awareness and strengthening patriotic values among young people.
