Debate Game “The Pillar of an Independent Nation Is Its Youth Leaders”

On December 16, in celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Pedagogy of the Open University of Kyzylorda organized a debate game entitled “The Pillar of an Independent Nation Is Its Youth Leaders.”

The main purpose of the event was to foster students’ civic engagement, develop an active attitude toward social issues, and enhance their public speaking and critical thinking skills.

Active students of the university took part in the debate, conducting in-depth analyses of pressing social topics and defending their viewpoints with strong arguments. The level of preparation, logical reasoning, and debate culture demonstrated by both teams were highly appreciated.

As a result of the intense intellectual competition, the winners were determined as follows:
1st place — Government faction
2nd place — Opposition faction

In addition, for outstanding activity, thoughtful ideas, and well-reasoned arguments, Didar Bakytbekuly, a student of the Library Science educational program, was awarded the “Best Speaker” nomination.

The debate game provided students with an opportunity to develop leadership qualities, openly express their opinions, and demonstrate an active civic stance. The Department of Pedagogy of the Open University of Kyzylorda plans to continue organizing such meaningful events aimed at deepening students’ knowledge, supporting their creativity, and strengthening their sense of civic responsibility.

We express our sincere gratitude to all participants and organizers for their active contribution.
The future of an independent nation belongs to educated, innovative, and thoughtful youth!
