Criterion-based assessment: a modern approach
At the Open University of Kyzylorda, a scientific and methodological seminar titled “Criterion-Based Assessment as a Tool for Improving the Quality of Education” was organized. The seminar was conducted by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Ultay Zikirovna Yeshimova.
During the seminar, participants thoroughly examined the role of criterion-based assessment in ensuring the quality of education, the transparency and objectivity of evaluating learning achievements, as well as effective feedback mechanisms. Faculty members received comprehensive methodological guidance on systematically developing assessment criteria, clarifying descriptors, and applying formative assessment strategies in practice.
The meeting became a platform for professional dialogue, fostering the exchange of experience among lecturers, enhancing modern assessment practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of the educational process.
