Literary Heritage – the Spiritual Compass of the Nation

Within the framework of the Decree of the Head of State “On Measures to Develop Reading Culture and Foster an Intellectual Nation,” systematic efforts are being carried out across the country to promote national literary heritage, increase interest in reading, and develop a strong culture of reading.

As part of this initiative, outstanding works of Kazakh literature have been presented to a wide range of readers, including “The Path of Abai” by Mukhtar Auezov, “Urker” by Abish Kekilbayev, “The Time of Troubles” by Mukhtar Magauin, “Fate” by Kabdesh Zhumadilov, “The White Yurt” by Smagul Yelubay, “The Current” by Dulat Isabekov, and “I Don’t Want to Sleep” by Oralhan Bokei. These works make a significant contribution to enriching readers’ spiritual world and fostering greater interest in national literature.

These literary works vividly reflect the history of the Kazakh people, national identity, traditions, customs, and moral values. Reading them provides an opportunity to better understand the past, develop historical awareness, broaden one’s horizons, and appreciate spiritual and cultural values.

A book is the spiritual wealth of a nation, while a culture of reading is a strong foundation of an intellectual society. Every book read is an important step toward understanding national values, broadening knowledge and worldview, and fostering an educated and conscious generation.

Promoting national literary heritage is an important means of strengthening spiritual continuity and passing the rich cultural heritage of our people on to future generations.
