Social Awareness and Anti-Corruption Culture
The Open University of Kyzylorda hosted a meeting on the topic “Social Awareness and Anti-Corruption Culture,” aimed at enhancing the legal literacy of students and teaching staff, strengthening the principles of academic integrity, and fostering a culture of corruption prevention.
The meeting was attended by First Vice-Rector of the University Bakhytkhan Abdikarimov, Director of the Kyzylorda Regional Branch of the Republican Public Association “National Anti-Corruption Movement ‘ZHANARU’ Sagatbek Suleimen, faculty members, and first- and second-year students of the Law degree programme.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss in detail the importance of maintaining academic integrity at the university, measures to prevent corruption, as well as ways to develop social awareness and an anti-corruption culture.
In his speech, Sagatbek Suleimen emphasized the importance of establishing a principle of zero tolerance towards bribery and any other violations of the law in society. He also highlighted the need to promote honesty and integrity as important social values. Particular attention was paid to strengthening young people's sense of legal responsibility, respecting the requirements of the law, and adhering to the principles of academic integrity in everyday educational activities.
During the meeting, students exchanged views on issues of concern to them and gained valuable insights into the responsibility of every citizen in preventing corruption.
Such meaningful meetings contribute not only to enhancing the legal culture of young people, but also to strengthening their commitment to the values of honesty, fairness, integrity, and civic responsibility.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants were reminded of the importance of observing the principles of academic integrity and making an anti-corruption culture an integral part of everyday life.
