Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Join Forces in Training AI Specialists

The Open University of Kyzylorda and the Tashkent Architecture and Construction University (TAQU) are entering a new phase of strategic academic partnership. As a result of bilateral cooperation, a joint dual-degree educational program in the field of Artificial Intelligence has been developed.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Rector of TAQU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bahrom Abdukabilovich Tulaganov, a delegation from the Open University of Kyzylorda led by Murat Kylyshbaevich Bisenov, member of the Board of Founders, arrived on a working visit.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed the implementation of the new program, the harmonization of curricula, academic mobility, and the coordination of research and teaching activities.

The creation of the Artificial Intelligence program reflects the priorities of both countries in preparing qualified personnel for the digital economy. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, emphasized:

“We live in the era of digitalization, and it is Artificial Intelligence that will define the trajectory of the future. Training qualified specialists in this field is our key task.”

This joint initiative will serve as a platform for training young specialists in data analysis, machine learning, intelligent systems, and applied mathematics.

In addition, during the visit, the parties discussed:

🔹 launching joint research projects;
🔹 developing digital laboratories and AI centers at both universities.

The Open University of Kyzylorda considers strengthening ties with leading universities in Central Asia as an essential part of its internationalization strategy and its role in shaping the region’s future technological leadership.
