International Experts’ Meeting Held at Kyzylorda Open University

   Kyzylorda Open University hosted a meeting focused on improving the quality of education and strengthening international cooperation. Rector Klyshbay Bissenov delivered a welcome address and highlighted the university’s strategic development priorities.

   A special emphasis was placed on the fact that in 2024, Kyzylorda Open University was officially admitted as a member of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU). This organization brings together leading higher education institutions specializing in open and distance learning and serves as an international platform for sharing best practices and innovations. As the first and only university in Kazakhstan to join AAOU, KOU has taken a significant step in advancing its internationalization strategy and enhancing its academic reputation. During the meeting, the action plan for full participation in the activities of the Association was also discussed.

   The meeting was attended by Dr. Aliya Mukhamedzhanova, Professor of Economics, as well as Professor Phil Kim from the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO, France) and Kangnam University (Republic of Korea).

   Professor Phil Kim shared the experience of leading Asian open universities, innovative teaching models, and modern approaches to distance education. Professor Aliya Mukhamedzhanova highlighted key issues of improving education quality, academic mobility, and expanding international partnerships.

   Kyzylorda Open University will continue to strengthen cooperation with international experts and introduce modern educational trends.
