10 facts about Alikhan Bukeikhan

    The outstanding organizer of the first political party of the Alash people and the first chairman of the National Autonomous Government of Alashorda, scientist, literary critic, translator and talented publicist Bukeikhan Alikhan Nurmukhamedovich was born on March 25, 1866 in the 7th village of Tuyrauyn parish of Karkarala county of Semipalatinsk region.
His father took him to Karkaralinsk and gave him to the local Mold for training. But little Alikhan, not satisfied with Molda's education, voluntarily goes to an elementary school with three classes in the city. After graduation, he studied for seven years at the metep for Kazakh children of the city of Karkaralinsk.
In 1886, he was educated at a 4-year technical school in Omsk, then at the Faculty of Economics of the Forestry Institute in St. Petersburg.
In 1906 he worked as an editor in the Cadet newspapers "Voice of the Steppe", "Omich" and "Irtysh", published from Omsk; Menshevik newspapers "Comrade", "Speech", "Word", published in St. Petersburg in 1908.
In 1913, together with Akhmet Baitursyn and Mirzhakip Dulatov, he organized the first national editorial organization — the newspaper "Kazakh".
A. Bokeikhanov organized all-Kazakh congresses in July and December 1917, at which it was possible to form the Alash party and the Alashord government. He is elected to the post of Chairman of the Government of Alashorda.
The pseudonym of Alikhan Bokeikhanov for the Kazakh-language press is not limited to "Kyr Balasy". In Kazakh-language publications, along with the above-mentioned names, "Galikhan", "G. B." or "A. B.", "A. N.", "Arys uly", "Turkish child", "Kalmykbai" and "V".
A. Bokeikhanov and his wife, Elena Yakovleva, created a family in 1901. Alikhan and Elena will have a son and a daughter.
On September 27, 1937, an outstanding public and statesman, scientist Alikhan Bokeikhanov, who founded the Kazakh national liberation movement, was sentenced to death on false charges in Moscow. The sentence was carried out on the same day.
