Kazakhstan Rises by 8 Positions in the Global Innovation Index

Kazakhstan’s systematic efforts in the fields of science, innovation and higher education continue to demonstrate positive results at the international level.

According to the Global Innovation Index 2026, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Kazakhstan ranked 73rd among 139 economies worldwide, climbing eight positions compared to the previous year. The country has also maintained its leading position in Central Asia and ranked 2nd in the Central and Southern Asia region.

The improvement in Kazakhstan’s international performance in science, innovation, human capital and higher education reflects the results of consistent and systematic efforts in these areas. In particular, the growing recognition of the country’s achievements in education and science in international rankings highlights the valuable contribution of Kazakhstani scientists, academics, researchers and young people.

An important role in this progress is played by the state policy and systematic efforts of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed at advancing higher education institutions, strengthening the country’s research capacity and improving the quality of education.

Kyzylorda Open University is also contributing to this nationwide progress. The University consistently implements initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education, developing research activities, integrating modern technologies into the educational process and strengthening the scientific potential of students.

The country’s current international achievements are the result of continued state support for science and education, as well as the dedicated work of thousands of professionals who contribute every day to the development of national science, education and innovation.

On this significant achievement, we sincerely congratulate the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstani scientists, academics, researchers, students and everyone working in the fields of science and education!

We wish you new achievements, successful research projects, greater international recognition, and further strengthening of Kazakhstan’s position on the global education and innovation landscape.
